OUR SERVICES
What types of parking lot line marking do you offer?
Ligne Dynamique 2005 offers a complete parking lot line painting service for all types of projects: outdoor and indoor parking lots, underground parking garages, warehouses, schoolyards, pedestrian crosswalks and municipal marking. We also do ground logos (handicap, electric vehicle, family, no smoking), directional arrows, stall numbering, custom lettering and hatching.
Do you do indoor parking lot line marking?
Yes. We do line painting in underground condo parking garages, office towers, shopping centers and indoor garages. The paint we use is suited to concrete surfaces and indoor conditions. We also use epoxy paint for high-traffic environments.
Do you do warehouse marking?
Yes. We paint safety lines for forklift traffic, pedestrian zones, work areas and loading zones. A well-marked warehouse improves employee safety and operational efficiency. Our warehouse markings comply with workplace safety requirements.
Do you paint games in schoolyards?
Yes. We offer a wide variety of painted ground games for schoolyards and daycares: hopscotch, snakes and ladders, tracks, basketball courts, targets and custom games. We work with schools and school service centers to create colorful, safe and stimulating play areas.
Can you remove old parking lot lines?
Yes. We offer a scarifying service, a technique that mechanically removes old paint from asphalt before applying new markings. This is the recommended method when a parking lot’s layout changes or when old lines create confusion.
WORK PROCESS
How long does a parking lot line painting project take?
It depends on the size of the project. A small condo parking lot can be completed in a few hours. A large commercial parking lot can take a full day. In most cases, we’re able to complete the work the same day we arrive on site.
Do you need to close the parking lot during the work?
Not necessarily. We can work in sections to keep part of the parking lot accessible. We also offer a night service, which allows the work to be done outside of peak hours. This is a popular option for businesses and shopping centers.
How long before I can drive on the new lines?
Under normal conditions, the paint dries in about 30 minutes. We always make sure the marking is completely dry before reopening traffic. Drying time can vary depending on temperature and humidity.
Do you work evenings and weekends?
Yes. Ligne Dynamique 2005 offers a 24/7 service. We work around your schedule to minimize the impact on your operations.
What’s the best time of year to have parking lot lines painted?
The ideal season runs from April to November. Marking paint must be applied when the temperature is at least 10 degrees Celsius and the surface is dry. Spring is the most popular time since lines are often damaged by winter, de-icing salt and snow removal.
Can you paint lines on concrete?
Yes. We work on both asphalt and concrete. The paint we use is suited to the type of surface to ensure good adhesion and maximum durability.
PAINT AND DURABILITY
What type of paint is used for parking lot lines?
We mainly use fast-drying acrylic latex paint, compliant with the standards of the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable du Québec. This paint is designed to withstand vehicle traffic, weather conditions and de-icing salt. For warehouses and indoor parking lots, we use epoxy paint, which offers increased resistance to wear.
How long do parking lot lines last?
On average, parking lot lines last 2 to 3 years before needing to be repainted. Lifespan depends on several factors: traffic volume, sun exposure, de-icing products used in winter and the condition of the asphalt surface. A low-traffic parking lot can keep its lines in good condition for up to 4 or 5 years.
What colour should I choose for my parking lot lines?
The most common colours are yellow and white. Yellow is recommended for outdoor parking lots in Quebec because it stays more visible when snow accumulates. White is often used indoors. Blue is reserved for accessible parking spaces and green for electric vehicle charging spots.
Do you use reflective glass beads?
Yes, we can add glass beads to the paint to improve line visibility at night and in rainy conditions. The beads reflect headlight beams, making the markings much more visible in low-light conditions.
STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS
What are the regulatory dimensions of a parking space in Quebec?
According to the Quebec Construction Code, a standard parking space must have a minimum width of 2.6 meters (8.5 feet) and a minimum depth of 5.5 meters (18 feet). These dimensions may vary depending on municipal bylaws. Accessible parking spaces must have a minimum width of 3.9 meters (12.8 feet) to allow wheelchair access.
How many accessible parking spaces are required in a parking lot?
In Quebec, the Construction Code requires that at least 1% of spaces in a parking lot with 25 spaces or more be reserved for people with disabilities, with a minimum of one space. For parking lots with 101 to 200 spaces, two reserved spaces are required. For parking lots with fewer than 25 spaces, there is no legal requirement, but it’s recommended to provide at least one accessible space.
Is an RBQ license required for parking lot line marking?
A license from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) isn’t always mandatory for parking lot line marking, but it’s a mark of professionalism and compliance. Ligne Dynamique 2005 has held its RBQ license (8333-0647-00) since its beginnings. It’s your assurance that the work is carried out by a company that follows industry standards.
What standards apply to parking lot marking paint in Quebec?
Road marking paints in Quebec must comply with the standards of the Ministère des Transports (MTQ). The paint must meet the specifications of standard BNQ 3711-807 for water-based paints, or the equivalent for alkyd and epoxy paints. At Ligne Dynamique 2005, we use exclusively products that meet these standards.
